Empowering a Climate Change Movement

Read "Empowering a Climate Change Movement: Low Carbon Diet and the Cool Community", David’s six-part weekly series in the Huffington Post Green Section.

Part One: Low Carbon Diet and the Cool Community

Part Two: An Inconvenient Truth Finds a Convenient Solution

Part Three: Instead of Cursing the Dark, Light a Candle

Part Four: The Global Warming Café

Part Five: Taking A Cool Community To Scale

Part Six: Cities Step Up and Help

The series builds new momentum for a climate change movement that has lost its mojo because of the failure of Copenhagen and the forces lined up against bold and timely national legislation in the U.S. Excerpted from chapter 11 of Social Change 2.0: A Blueprint for Reinventing Our World, David shows how over 300 communities across America—not satisfied to wait for the slow and torturous pace of government solutions—have built a bottom-up movement to help Americans take direct responsibility to reduce our carbon footprints while at the same time substantially reducing our energy expenses.

David describes a way forward to directly and strategically address carbon reduction in the short-term while building demand for legislation, renewal energy and low-carbon technologies to scale up over the long-term. As more and more of us say "yes," we will bring the planet back from the brink. The blueprint laid out in this six-part series will provide some of the strategies and tools to move us in this direction.
